About Me

HeadshotMy name is Emily Schemrich and I am a Public Accounting major at Marietta College. I am currently in my second year at Marietta College and will be taking Spring of 2016 off to complete an audit internship with Ernst & Young. I will graduate in May of 2017. I am a flyer for the Cheerleading team, a member of the Alpha Xi Delta Women’s Fraternity, partake in the Outdoor Adventure Club and am a member of the McDonough Leadership Program where I have had the opportunity to become an EXCEL Leader for the incoming leadership scholars. I have always pushed for strong academics as well as involvement in the community around myself.

In high school, I was well involved in extracurricular activities while I strived for good academics. I participated in band and drama club throughout high school. I was a member of National Honor Society and enrolled in College Academy my junior and senior year. I ran track for three years and qualified for regionals. I also attended the Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership Conference the summer after my sophomore year. I participated in a challenge to complete 100 volunteer hours within one year after the three day conference. This really helped kick my motivation for volunteering and helped me find  a passion for giving back.

I did not originally plan on majoring in Accounting; I wanted to pursue a degree in Business Management. After taking my first course in accounting, I decided I really liked learning about the material and decided to make Public Accounting my declared major. I hope to obtain my Certified Public Accounting degree and then pursue a job hopefully in a large company with a lot of room for growth and improvement so I can gain knowledgeable experience.

In my e-Portfolio, I have provided my resume as well as some of my sample work from my first semester at Marietta College. There is also information on my community service and courses taken. I have provided photos of my college experiences as well as my personal information so you may contact me.
