Community Service

I have been volunteering for as long as I remember. I never really thought of it as something that I had to do. I volunteered here and there throughout my freshman and sophomore year, but my volunteer experience really kicked off after I attended the Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership Conference my sophomore year. There was a challenge to complete a hundred hours of volunteer service within one year. I completed hours by being a camp counselor, a library volunteer, working with disabled kids, and a community Christmas basket program. Since coming to college I now volunteer through the McDonough Leadership Progam and the Alpha Xi Delta Women’s Fraternity. The project I am currently working with is Marietta In Bloom. My project helps to restore the beauty of Marietta by tending to the gardens and signs welcoming visitors into the city. Volunteering with Marietta In Bloom
