W7: Capgemini and UPMC

Capgemini and UPMC (University of Pittsburgh Medical Center) are two companies that rely on technology for their employees to perform their daily tasks.  Capgemini is a company that helps its clients “transform in order to improve their performance and competitive positioning”.  Capgemini works with many well-known companies (Microsoft, IBM, etc.) and many regional companies, and helps them to better connect with their customers. Capgemini works with companies that are involved in global markets, and uses multiple types of technology (especially mobile devices) to help the companies grow.  UPMC is a medical center located in Pittsburgh, but is becoming more global by expanding centers to other countries.  UPMC relies on technology to store all of its patients medical records and is necessary for its employees to provide their services.
